Only 2 years after making us dream with The Dreamer who imposed it as the revival of the jazz scene. José James did in 2009 with a comeback from his latest quality "Blackmagic" .
On this second album, the New York jazz musician ever signed on the label Brownswood Gilles Peterson of returns with his unique blend of Jazz and Hip Hop as well as his warm voice. A classical voice, "Old School" for other which seems to listen very modern and urban. So to say, this city already rated this in small doses on The Dreamer is accentuated here by the presence of DJ Mitsu and Flying Lotus production. These collaborations and above this range effort we retain some titles convincing enough as "Code" or the sensual "Made For Love" .
The result after listening loop of 13 Tracks, is that person in BlackMagic a whole more or less Soul Jazz as The Dreamer. The record is more "street" while making it softer continuously, as evidenced by the midtempo "Save Your Love For Me" , Nu Soul "Lay Down Your" or " No Tellin '" . A more accessible album but one that filled his contract when it comes to make us soar. A second album which promises - we hope - a long and successful career.
